First Aid for Infant/Child Care Personnel (CHFA)

 

At the end of the course, trainee will be a certified first-aider, equipped with skills to render first aid and CPR for Infant and Child. Topics covered include techniques to treat wounds, fractures, burns, bleeding, fever in an infant/child and others.

 

This course is Skills Development Fund (SDF) Approved-in-Principle and accredited by the National First Aid Council (NFAC). This is a required course for the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports (MCYS) licensed Child Care Personnel.

Standard
First Aid (SFA)

 

At the end of the course, trainee will be a certified first-aider, equipped with skills to render first aid in times of urgency. Topics covered include tending to wounds, fractures, burns, individuals who suffered heart attacks and others.

 

This course is Skills Development Fund (SDF) Approved-in-Principle.

Refresher
Standard
First Aid (RFA)

 

Conducted for those renewing their Standard First Aid certificates, which expires at the end of three years. Topics covered in the Standard First Aid course will be revisited during this course.

 

Trainees are encouraged to attend this course three months before their certificate expires.

 

Enrollment Criteria: Trainees must have a valid (not expired) Standard First Aid / Adult First Aid certificate issued by the Singapore Red Cross, St. John Ambulance or Ministry of Manpower to attend Refresher Standard First Aid course. Red Cross reserves the right to reject the application if the certificate has expired (i.e. Validity of the Standard First Aid certificate is 3 years from date of issue).

Occupational
First Aid (OFA)

At the end of the course, trainees will be well informed about safety issues at the workplace and be equipped with the appropriate knowledge to react during an emergency or accident. Trainee will also be well informed to undertake preventive actions towards the occurrence of an accident at the workplace. Topics covered include industrial safety, accident prevention, industrial toxicology and records, legal requirement pertaining to the provision of first aid at workplace under Section 58 of the Factories Act.

 

With effect 1 May 2010, trainees will also be taught on the how to resuscitate a collapsed adult using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

 

This course is Skills Development Fund (SDF) Approved-in-Principle and Accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

Occupational
First Aid (ROFA)

Conducted for those renewing their Occupational First Aid certificates, which expires at the end of three years. Topics covered in the Industrial First Aid course will be revisited during this course.

Workplace First Aid (WFA)

This course is aimed at equipping security officers with relevant first aid skills to augment their job responsibilities. Trainee will learn first aid skills and knowledge inclusive of training on CPR and AED for heart attack casualty.

 

This course will be a SDF (Skills Development Fund) and SRP (Absentee Payroll) Approved-In-Principle and will be accredited by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) under the Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) framework.

Heart Saver Adult CPR (CPR)

 

This course will teach trainees life saving CPR skills, which may help revive an adult casualty who has stopped breathing, in cases of a heart attack or a stroke. Trainee will also be taught ways of relieving a choking casualty.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

This course will teach students skills in adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Enrollment Criteria: Trainees must be holders of Standard/Occupational/Adult First Aid or Heart Saver Adult CPR or BCLS certificate. Medical professionals (nurses & doctors) are exempted from this criterion.

This course is Accredited by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC).
